It has been a year since I asked about this problem with my Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 joystick. You can check the recommendations under my name. I am not sure if I should have just added a response to last year's post or start a new one so I will start here again.

The software installs OK and the joystick works perfectly except that when I hit the "recorder" function under properties I get the following error message: " An exception occurred when trying to run "Shell32.dll, control_runDLLjoy.cpl.

I have gone to the Xp install cd and have copied the Joycp_ file to my Windows\System32 File. However, I get the same error message.

Again, I would appreciate any help in solving this problem. I really like this joystick, but if I cannot use the recorder it severly limits what I can do with the joystick. Thanks .
