Ok Guys,

Here goes, this is really making me mad, and I just can't figure this one out. I've got a HDD I'm working on for a client, and it has 2 folders I'm trying to delete, because of virus & porn infections on the PC. The strange thing is that both of these folders show up in my Data Recovery Application... as it is here... -->  screenshot_1.jpg (105.72K)
Number of downloads: 34 you can clearly see them, the 2 with the arrows pointing at them.

Ok, now here's what it looks like just through My Computer. -->  screenshot_2.jpg (80.73K)
Number of downloads: 21 I've also got it set on the Folder Properties to show hidden files/folders, and also show hidden windows system files, but yet these folders do not show up for me to delete.

If anyone knows of a way that I can delete these, please inform me on how to do so??? I've been looking for some delete programs to clear deleted folders, since I'm thinking that this is what this is relating to, but not sure.

Any Input on this will be greatly appreciated

Have you tried booting the system using BartPE?

Put the HDD in another PC or boot to a BartPE or Knoppix CD and delete them that way. However, the Vundo virus which I have been infected with doesn't show up even then, I had to use the Vundo Fix for it.

Hey Guys,

thanks for all the replies, I downloaded, and ran BartPE, and those folders did not show up there either, so I guess that they are not going to cause any problems with the drive, anyway, I'm bout to the point of reformatting the drive anyway, since it has so much virus, porn, and ad/spyware infections on it.

Sometimes it is just too far gone and a reformat is the only option. Let's see how long the owner(s) can go without infecting it with today's hottest.

Ditto that sometimes it's just best to start over.

Anytime I reinstall Windows for friends and family, I now require that they buy some sort of image software (my personal favorite is Terabyte Unlimited's Image for Windows, due to its relative affordability) before I rebuild their computers. This way, once they've completely gunked up the computer, I can lecture them, roll back to the clean installation point, and just update the installed programs.

If they've got Vista, you could just use the built-in ImageX functionality. You'll get there eventually .

If I had of known of Acronis True Image Home Edition years ago, I would have saved myself a crapload of headache... I think I've shaved a few years off my lifespan from computer stress alone.
