I have windows me...anyway.

My dad put in a disc from learndirect for this computer course. it installed all this absolute rubbish on the computer. so he shuts the comp down, and asks me to uninstall it later. so i go on, and everyhthing has been well messed. color as been set to 16 colors, screen resulution cannot be moved from 600x800. kinda the same as before, only the comp is faster for some reason :)

when i started up it came up new hardware found. ACI screen resolution something or other.

i scanned with AVG and it says no virus found o_O

heres a screenshot.

I would attempt to reinstall the video drivers. I would also verify that the video card is not loose. Start there. Let me know what you come up with.
What if everything around you, isn't quite as it seems...

And if you look at your reflection, Is that all you want to be?
What if you could look right through the cracks, Would you find yourself... find yourself afraid to see?

Update your monitor driver and video card. Simple as that. :)

A program would not install "hardware" You just need to update your video drivers most likely.

Maybe try this "scanreg /restore" at the command prompt and restore system config before this program was installed.
I think it should help.
Sorry for my English ;-)

If that doesn't work you can rebuild the windows driver database.

In safe mode delete drvidx.bin and drvdata.bin, then restart.
