XP_BanDit
I have a DELL Inspiron 5100, that the hard drive is about to die. Someone gave me a nice external harddrive. Was wondering would it be possible to boot from the external and remove my internal. Or should I just buy me a new internal. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Access Denied
Whether you can boot from that I believe is up to your motherboard/BIOS setup, if its possible. Mine can see the external and gives a boot error when I try to do it but that is because there is no OS on it. It will be extremely slow in my opinion if you do boot from the external(the OS will run slower). Hope that helps.
