Unattended, Change Welcome Screen

Recommended Posts

I want to creat a Unattended of windows XP and want to change the looks also during setup and i did it also but when i tried that one in virtual pc it encountered a problem "value creation failed " at line 582." I thought that one is due to logonui.exe which i changed with edited one (because the problem occured at the time of logon).

So is there is any easy way to creat my own welcome screen (logon screen) for my unattended xp.

And one more thing. After installing fresh edited xp with my own looks in my system it runs slower that the original installation. How can i make it run fast?

Yes, i used that one and created a welcome screen too. but extension of that file is .logonxp which windows can not support without Logon Studio. so i want to convert it to .exe extension.

And after creating that welcome screen. How can i make it working with unattended xp? Please describe step by steup :blushing:

Search for LogonuiX.exe under C:\Windows\System32\

rename to logonui.exe make cab file

makecab C:\logonui.exe

Replace into I386 Folder with existing one.

I think u guys r not happy with this. i also confused that it's not working.

Now i m going to tell u trully....... how it works

first apply your favourite logonxp file using tuneup utilities

now:

go to

\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\TuneUp Software\TuneUp Utilities\WinStyler

here u will get file named "tu_logonui.exe"

this is the file u r looking for.

When you are using Logon Studio, search for logonuiX.exe under C:\Windows\System32

You can find the current logon screen using this reg setting

Open Registry Editor (type regedit in Run dialog box) and navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

look for UIHost String value and check this, it should be logonui.exe or logonuiX.exe and so on.
