That Rapidshare site is absolutely silly. Especially now that they've introduced that illegible "capcha" thing. I've tried umpteen times. Couldn't you give us a better link?

If you would email the file to me I will put it up on my own website

Wierd message while installing MDIE6CU 1.8:

This setup will only upgrade over an existing version of VM (X)

What the hell may he be talking about?
Many other update boxes were appearing and disapearing at a rapid rate, before, during and after this message was displayed...

I just installed SP3B3 followed by MDIE6CU23, and windowsupdate found that the following 2 updates are missing:
- Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB916281)
- Security Update for Windows 98 (KB891781)
Based on my other post http://www.msfn.org/...A...0&start=580 , the second is a new one, and it wasn't there when MDIE6CU23 wasn't installed.

TIA,
aur

Does IE6SP1 or IS6SP1 Component Update 2.5 automatically install Outlook Express? I've NEVER had to install Outlook or Outlook Express in a 98SE install. Granted, MSoft may be up to it's usual tricks.

Thanks for all those lovely updates for IE6 (I was particularly interested
in the KB960714 security update, BTW).

However, there's one problem with the mdie6cu.exe (2.5a) bundle :
It re-introduces a buggy version of 'mlang.dll' (dated 2004/10/15),
which was the subject of previous correspondence, per below.

I'm not sure which was the last good version of 'mlang.dll' before MS
broke it for 9X, however I've now replaced this broken version with
version 5.50.4807.2300 (dated 2001/07/23) and will wait and see if
any of the problems resurface. The original 98SE version mentioned
below is OK, of course.

Joe.

Previous correspondence on 'mlang.dll' follows :

...... snip ......

I'll keep in mind your experience with MLANG.DLL .

Best wishes,
MDGx
