XP SP2 Home, IE 7, latest patches, Spybot, Spycatcher, AVG, ZoneAlarm free, AdAware, PC-CLean, Spyware Blaster, Sun JRE 1.6

Sun and other Java testing sites say Java runtime 1.6 installed. Security settings for trusted sites enables Scripting

Cannot run Java applets on various sites, My Photo Album, SnapFish, DSL Reports Java speed test for example

Have only JRE 1.6 installed, no others show up in any search

I have uninstalled all security programs except Zone Alarm and AVG - no change

With so many sites using Java, this is becoming a serious issue for me

any help much appreciated

Uninstall any Java you have installed and install this.

After a little Google search, I went to this site and downloaded the latest version of the Java runtime engine.

That's one thing I try to keep up on.
