Helpthe community one doesnt have any CONF file to set in snort so i dont know whats the use of it but the second file have a snort.conf in it but when i put it in snort for use i get an error:
I use vista if it helps anyhow.

i got the snort and read the manual and then downloaded 2 rule sets from their website.one is the community made one that is open for public and the SNAPSHOT one is avliable to registered users.
