since my computer died i was wondering if it was possible to connect my sata hdd that i use for storage to my dads dell XPS which already has 2 sata raptors connected to it, the were in a raid array once he got it but i broke it so we could use them separately. when i was testing everything out i figured if i just connected the hdd it should read it and it wouldnt work. in the bios it said that i couldnt enable slots 1&3 cuz it was in combination mode, so i tried selecting raid /achi and raid /aci and neither of them seemed to work. am i missing something??

now it works for some reason, i was scared at first because i had set it to RAID /AHCI and vista took forever to boot and would constantly use all the cpu cycles and MCE wouldnt even load. so i changed it to /ACI and everything worked fine. thats odd that it didnt work before when i tried it.
