Thanks again. Tried opening Services.msc in Notepad and Wordpad and still can't get the file to come up in the original format. I will try googling how to open msc files. Thanks Danbarr

Thanks for the info. That copies the file but does not keep the file in the original format. It's a jumble of words. There is a way and can be done in a couple of steps. I have done it with Word or Wordpad. Just can't remember the steps. Thanks again Danbarr

Using XP Home./ Office 2000 I have tweaked my Services.msc and would like to save my changes in the original column format to Word. I was able to do this a while back but can't find the info online again. On one post I found this " Sorted it out thx. easy when u know how. i xported the list to wordpad in original format." but I need to find how how to do this. Thanks, Danbarr
