  1. I Open a elevated command prompt and became the administrator . I downloaded the Add_Take_Ownership.reg file. I have reinstalled Vista Ultimate several times , from the 64 Bit Version to the 32 Bit Version , then the 32 Bit again . When i switched from the 64 Bit to the 32 Bit , not only did i get an Windows Old file but a ( x 86 ) also . I could not delete this folder only the contents until I followed the steps to take Ownership of it and 2 Windows Old folders . Clk show system files and folders also . The ( x 86 ) Folder was deleted but not the 2 Windows Old Folders . When i try I get this message . Could not find this item . This is no longer located in C:\. Verify the item's location and try again . Anyone got a clue what my next step should be ? 2. I switched from the 64 bit to the 32 bit vista ultimate . I have reinstalled the 32 OS a second time and now I have 2 Windows Old files . I have done a lot of research about how to delete these folders until I'm blue in the Face . I have tried every suggestion ,Disk cleanup works but only the most recent or current Windows Old file , taking ownership , changing Permissions , becoming the real administrator all that . That's not all . Same issue , I have many Empty folders in my Favorites that can not be deleted because , it says the files can not be found . I have Backed up my backed up backup files , so reinstalling Vista is a breeze and I don't mind and will continue to keep reinstalling it until i understand and get it set up the way it should be . I keep trying to get all the correct drivers installed but to do that i have to disable Windows Update so it will not install older drivers I don't want . I think all my problems with this PC are Compatible issues .Like the Motherboard A8N SLI Deluxe , AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor 4400 + 2,21 GHz The GTX 260 Graphics card is also questionable about Compatibility My Question is . How do I reinstall Vista Ultimate without it Creating the Windows Old Files in the first place ? Given the Information above and considering all my hardware isn't Compatible , what newer motherboard and or processor would you guys recommend that i upgrade too ? keeping in mind that someday i will buy Windows 7 OS . I don't really want to buy another graphics card . Thanks in advance for the help and advice , John
  3. I cant understand you having different KB numbers , I would think they would all be the same . Did you have any trouble after these updates ?
  4. I would like to know if this happened to anyone else . I run Windos Defender . Virus Scan and after rebooting again everything was back to normal . 5. Not an OEM , we built this PC 3 years ago . Am having trouble with the new floopy drive . The disk is not recognized so i bought a flash drive to aid me in updating the bios . I understand i have to download a flash utility and the new bios to the flash drive but am unsure if i have to format the flash drive . If so what format NTFS , fat , fat 32 oR exFAT ?? These are my options . I have to take drugs that make me an id*** and i still dont understand the process of updating my BIOS . Could someone please explain it to me . Thanks John
  6. I have a Saitek gamers keyboard that worked fine using the 64 bit OS . Then i upgraded to Vista Ultimate 64 bit and the keyboard stopped working . I tried to install the 64 bit driver for this and during the installation process it asked me to plug it in , it was already so my only option was to cancel . Saitek Tech said i should update my Bios for this to work . I kind of have a feeling this isn't true and if it is i am kind of scared to update my Bios . Just today while using I .E . ( explorer stopped working ) nothing new but i lost power to my wireless keyboard transmitter also the wired gaming mouse . So I guess my Question is what is the bios i should use and the safest what to flash it ? any ideas about the loss of power ? thanks john .
