  1. if your XP cd cannot show any partition for XP installations, then you need SATA (Mass Storage) drivers inside the CD . make a folder in your hard drive "XP_Original", copy all your files & folders from the original XP CD into that folder . Make a copy of the "XP_Original" folder, into "XP_with_Drivers" folder. Then goto DriverPacks.net, download the DPBase software & Mass Storage drivers. Use the DPBase software, to integrate all the mass storage drivers, inside the "XP_with_Drivers" folder . then download nLight software . use nLight on that "XP_with_Drivers" folder, and select the Bootable CD Making option only, make an iso image . then use Nero, or ImgBurn to burn that iso image on an empty CD as a Burn CD/DVD Image, not as a file . now you can use this CD to boot & load XP on that laptop. ~ Tareek . 2010-Mar-30,5:41P,U-08:00.
  2. (1) If your computer's Warranty period is Over then you can do this ... use a Boot CD, that have Disk Partitioning software (Acronis, Paragon, etc) in it. Then you must Set the partitioning software configuration, to copy or move partition sector by sector, bit by bit, even empty areas. (2) If your System Recovery Partition (which is usually around 4 to 10 GigaBytes) is located at the end of the hard-drive area, then delete it. Dont increase your biggest NTFS partition size yet. Make the biggest NTFS partition, an 'Active' partition. Goto step 6. (3) If your System Recovery Partition (which is usually around 4 to 10 GigaBytes) is located at the beginning of the hard-drive area, then reduce the biggest NTFS partition size by around 15 GB less, keep that 15 GB free space at the end. (4) Try to move that System Recovery partition in that free space area at the end of the hard-drive, first. If cannot be moved then do a partition copy, bit by bit. Then make the biggest NTFS partition an 'Active' partition. If you failed to move and copy both, then make a 2GB FAT or FAT32 partition right after that Sysmtem recovery partition, by reducing your biggest NTFS partition size by 2GB, and try to keep/create that 2GB emty space in the beginning of that biggest partition area, but after the System Recovery partition. And then make the 2GB FAT or FAT32 partition an 'Active' partition. (5) now delete the System Recovery Partition that is in the 1st or in the beginning of your hard-drive area. (must see previous paragraphs). (6) now you will be able to install Windows XP, Vista, 7 OS . During setup, if/when you are prompted to select a partition to install your OS, you should select the biggest NTFS partition. ~ Tareek . 2010-Mar-30,5:11P,U-08:00.
  3. i posted to DriverPacks.net site, about the problem in details, this is how they have 'helped' me further. http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=4463 ~ Tareek . Mar29,2K10.5:53P,U-08:00.
  4. the list here should be helpful. an AiO addon made by user jd976 there, was suitable and effective for my purpose.
  5. if i place font files inside the below folder structure, inside a setup disc, then those will get installed automatically ? no other code modifications are necessary. create below 3 folders, 1 under another, inside CD/DVD disc : $OEM$\$$\Fonts Cyberbit.ttf , Arial Unicode MS.ttf , TITUSCBZ.TTF , CODE2000.TTF , chrysuni.ttf , evermono.ttf , YOzFont.TTF , unifont-5.1.20080907.ttf , wqy-zenhei.ttf i like those Unicode fonts copy-paste your font files there. and Unicode Script Processor addon (by Kelsenellenelvian) can provide Advanced Unicode suport in XP.
  6. thanks. i ran the dxdiag.exe from inside the system32 folder, showed... DirectX version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DixDiag 5.03.2600.5512 Unicode is this right ? is it the most uptodate at this point ?
  7. thanks. its loads even during the xp installation, and then after every restart. is there any way it can be pre-configured to not start with Windows ?
  8. i was integrating XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack_1.2.1_20100309.7z from RyanVM site into a Multiboot OEM XP Pro pre-intg SP3 32bits disc, through nL 1.4.91, on a WinXP-Pro-SP3 computer. was Receiving Error related to "rvmuppck.inf" missing ... as well as more Error for these missing files symc810.sys, symc8xx.sys, viaide.sys ... added "RVMAddons_1.9.2_UH.7z" , and extracted missing files from XP Pro SP2 floppy image(s), and placed those inside I386 ... those errors were solved. there were warning+Prompt message for replacing new file with older version for the KB967756 Rollback dll file(s) and for WG Validn tool dll file ... i clicked on 'no' to use the old versions. when nL finished its integration stages , then i used (not nL, but) the DP's DPs_BASE_8125.exe to integrate drivers, just before making the iso in nL. but the resulted iso/disc did not work ... when installing (vmware vm) , after 1st reboot, all DPs get decompressed , but then setup just keeps on Rebooting again and again ! these are the things i have in addon list now, in exact order ... Mar22,2K10,7:36P,U-08:00. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT : i've made another iso, removed #4 & #28 .Net Frameworks, added 1 .Net Framework AIO Pack ( by user jd976 ) that have 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 etc, removed #39 PatchAddon_UXTHEME_v14a.7z, and used nLite's own Theme patching feature. this time, neither any DPs were integrated through that DriverPack_Base_exe, nor through nLite, then that iso installation completed without any problem since this disc already had an older DP for MassStorage already integrated into it, related hardware got detected, but most other hardware stuff remained undetected during Registering Components (13 mins remaining to complete) stage, and after 2nd time it reboots, WinXP setup took long time. but after that worked regularly, (but with the, 30 days remaining for activation warning tray icon). so it was the DPs which was conflicting and causing this restart behavior, in my case. how can i integrate full DPs (DriverPacks), without such "restart" / "reboot" bug ? thanks. ~ Tareek .
