  1. Dumb Questions... The Section [OEMBootFiles] iaahci.cat iaahci.inf iaStor.sys iastor.cat iastor.inf txtsetup.oem Is the same no matter which chipset / raid chipset you have. Unfortunately, the actual content of those files is different. Example: One version of the files may cover the 82801 chipset, but a different version of the files is needed for the ICH8R. How would you integrate that into a generic Multi-systm RIS? When you have to copy the INF and SYS files to you I386, you are suddenly faced wtih needing to copy two different versions of the same file.....2 different SIF's would not work here. I know there is something blindingly obvious I am missing.... Something simialar wold occur for Dell otpiplex or latitude series AUDIO chipset.. There are many different models, all from the same manafacturer, same file names , but the INF/CAt/SYS files are model specific.......
  2. Stupid question..... I am having problems with a generic RIS install in that E6400 notbooks, identical configuration (all were ordered off the same, single, Dell Equote), will sometimes pick up and install all of the correct drivers, and some times they will not. Of the 5 I am working on at this moment 2 installed correctly, 2 did not install the Dell (CreativeLabs) Webcam, Intel AMT, Intel Serial over LAN Rico Smart Card Reader, Intel video and the IDT Audio drivers 1 bombed in RIS saying it could find no harddrives in the system. I am scratching a bald spot in what little hair I have left. Theories? Resolutions? Please??????
  3. What about a chained install using the Setup.ini file of office 2003? It does not appear to inherit the display options of the MS office installer as it should, nor does the DISPLAY parameter in the [Chained Install] section appear to work . Has anyone managed it? I am about to try it using a batch file
