DysfunktinaL
I should know this, and I probably do, but I've never been asked this and I typicaly go with GPU's from whatever company made the chipset, but an 8800 GTX will work on a board with a ATI SB600 chipset right? ripken204
if the question is simply if an nvidia card will work on an ati chipset then the answer is yes, it's also the same the other way around.what motherboard are you looking at or do you have? The PCI-E 16x line isn’t connected to that chip, it’s connected to the Northbridge and I think you are using a 690G or 690V chipset. Like ripken204 stated, it will be no problem to use the 8800GTX on it. If you go for a new video card by the way and can’t wait a few months, then go for the 8800GTS; just a bit less powerful but comes close and cost a lot less .
