WMP10 for Win2000 already have installed DXVA1 patch. Can you watch DXVA1 ?

It is possible to install wmfdist11 but there are some problem.

Please tell me how to check playing DXVA1. ;)

how can i install wmfdist11 (Windows Media Format Runtime 11) on win2000? i want to use DXVA1 to play wmv. is this possible?

you need dxvachecker ( http://bluesky23.hp.infoseek.co.jp/dxvac/D...ker_1.9.0.0.zip ) dxvachecker need NET framework2 to run. start dxvachecker and see what video acceleration is supported from yor vga (sometimes this depend from drivers and operating system). when you drag and drop media file over DXVAChecker's window, DXVAChecker check your installed directshow codecs and if some ot them can use dxva, you will see a red line with DXVA1

to use dxva you need mplayer classic home cinema, to play H264/AVC. to play MPEG2 1080i you need to load CLVsd.ax (CyberLink Video/SP Filter from power dvd 7 or 8) as external filter in mplayerc-hc (integrated in mplayerc-hc codec dont have dxva)

you can install CyberLink mpeg2 decoder from run:

rundll32.exe CLVSD.ax,DllRegisterServer

and to be sure that this filter will be used, delete nevideo.ax from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead/DSFilter/NeVideo.ax

Hi,

KDW 0.69 is available.

It makes Live Messenger 8.5.1302.1018 can work on Windows 2000 without Live Call and share folder and Icon and Background image.

Does this will also able my windows 2000 to run live messenger? And also latest movie maker?

Hi win2000,

How do you actually install Real Player 11?

I have all your modified system files installed.

When I run the standalone installer I just get a message after it unpacks which says that I need at least Windows XP.

I have looked in the WINNT\Temp folder before aborting the installer and there don't seem to be any .msi files to modify.

The online installer just says that my computer doesn't meet the system requirements and aborts the install.

So how do you actually do it?

Thanks, Dave.

Hi.

I see.

Well, there may be sevelral version Real Player 11 installers.

(At least there are 4 variation RP11 installers as I know.

Of course we must take difference way to install RP11 in win2000.)

Recent Real Playere requires more and more KDW Wrapper.

and You must add XP compatible mode for installer 'rnsetup0.exe' which was created in temp folder when you Install most recent version.

I know Most recent RP11 crushes on rjbdll.dll, when we select My library.

therefore I think that you had better use old version RP11.

How do you actually install Real Player 11?

Hi win2000.

Thanks for the quick reply.

FileHippo has all of the previous versions of Real Player 11 for download

http://www.filehippo.com/download_realplayer/tech/

Unfortunately none of them work for me, even the very earliest beta versions.

The file you mention, rnsetup0.exe, does not exist in the temp folder with any of them.

Can you tell me which version you did get to work and where you got it from?

Thanks, Dave.

Hi, actually I tried to install from filehippo.

I think that it is best choice to get version 11.0.0.372.

You must only set XP Compatible mode to Realplayer11GOLD.exe with fcwin2k.

It seems working good.

Hey everyone,

KDW seems to be very cool.

So I tried it out in vmware but everytime I try to replace user32.dll I get the following BSOD when I reboot:

Is there anyone who knows a solution?

Thanks,

Milan

Have you got the "EZ KD Registry" option checked in the KDW file installer window?

I found my system had a stop error like that if the system file registry entries weren't correct.

If it's not checked, check it and try the file replacement again.

I described how to recover easyly system when you fail system replace.

You had better copy from dllcache\user32.dll to system32\user32.dll on recovery console.

And you can replace KDW DLL on manually,

At first copy original user32.dll to user2k.dll, before copy KDW user32.dll to system32\use32.dll.

Good luck.

You're right win2000 I could have better do it the way you describe it. But anyway, now it works!

But I have an other question. When I start mp10en2k it says:

"Setup is currently unable to detect available updates"

Maybe someone can help me to fix it up?

Grtz,

Milan

*Update: Problem solved by putting an extra whiteline at the beginning of control.xml*

Great I had never tought that I would be able to run mp10 in win2k! Thanks a lot win2k :D

Thanks yet again win2000!

I decided to go for the latest version of Real Player 11 rather than the one you suggested, as it seems to be a beta.

Once I realised I had to use fcwin2k (in a mode I'd not used before!) it all worked fine.

You are indeed a genius!

:thumbup:thumbup :thumbup

Now please yet again is there any hope of getting AVS Video Tools to work with your kernel32.dll installed...........?

If that were possible my happiness would be complete! ;)

I've one other question.

Sorry :blushing:

Is someone who knows why wmp10 shows up in black/gray instead of blue witch is normal in winxp?

Grtz,

Milan

I seem to remember that it looked like that when I installed it too.

(I've uninstalled it again now and gone back to WMP9 as WMP10 didn't give me any advantage that I could use.)

I just assumed that was the default skin for WMP10.

Have you tried the different skins available to see if the look you expected is in fact available?

:)
