Searching text in a file in Win7

In XP you could perform a search and include the text within a text file, is this still possible in 7?

I found that if you click on Organize -> folder and search options you can set it there, but is there somewhere that isn't permanent?

The only way I have found it is if you search for something (anything) that gets no results, there is a link below on that screen that lets you search for contained text. I agree, I use that feature alot in XP and 2003, and hated how it wasn't as accessible in Vista and 7. It is really helpful when searching for drivers by HWID.

But this way Windows 7 don't search in files which Windows 7 doesn't know.

Example:

Create a text file "sample.txt". Fill in a text (e.g. "unawave")

Make a copy of this file. Name it "sample.xyz"

Now search for "unawave". "sample.txt" will be found - "sample.xyz" not.

I use the third party program "AgentRansack". This small search program integrates itself in right mouse context menu of folders and drives. Runs perfect in Windows 7 32 bit. In 64 bit some registry entries must added to appear into right mouse context menu.
