it is extremely slow. 1 CPU core is hogging the CPU alls the time and it uses 180MB RAM all the time:

scrolling through the Explorer is nearly impossible, because of Defender.

I've removed the crap with this tool:

I have a terrible computer, and mine is nothing like yours.

Defender has one of the best performance of all testes antivirus-tools, but detection-rate is really bad.

Good to see that your test shows that my NOD32 is better in performance. Be happy with your your crappy MSE/Defender and is terrible detection rate :lol:

If you are a very smart geek, you can turn off Defender. Defender IS slow, especially the one in Windows 8 because it's MSE now (same engine, doesn't matter). But it does slow down. If you must use an AV, use a free one like Avast that's light on resources.
