jbmx4life
so how does this work?? I am looking to get my XP w/SP2 cd integrated with the latest updates so that I don't have to sit thru another 1-2 hours of that after the initial XP install. Do I just need to save this .cmd file in the XPCreate directory and then run XPCreate? Will the program then create the necessary folders and download the updates listed? Thanks for your help! Makave2345
I created my XP cd with everything in it just like above..... I would like to say thanks... Everything worked exactly as it should....Now......Two updates left after installation:1. Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)2. Update for WMDRM-enabled Media Players (KB902344)I would like and try to add these two additional updates that were noted....(to another disc of course)I have downloaded the 1st update: dotnetfx.exeand the second update: windowsmedia10-kb902344-x86-intl.exeI would assume that I will need to put dotnetfx.exe into SVC-X2M folder overwriting the original one.But where do I put the windowsmedia10-kb902344-x86-intl.exe???? In the SVC-HF1 folder???Thanks for any help and I appreciate everyones hard work......!!!
krismark
At the moment you will not be able to install these from svcpack.1. Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)Get RVM's Switcheless Installer and install from cmdlines.txt2. Update for WMDRM-enabled Media Players (KB902344)Rename to 902344 and do the same.
Makave2345
Sorry, but I'm new at all this and i'm not familiar with how to do that....I got the installer for netframework 2..... The file is named: dotnet2.exe (and its a 7Zip setup file)I got the windowsmedia10-kb902344-x86-intl.exe which if I understand correctly I should rename to 902344.exe.....But as far as integrating them, honestly I'm lost....I'm not familiar with how to use things like this..Do I use my new cd (that has all the other fixes as listed above already in it) as the source? Then what would I need to do......If there is a tutorial on things like this, please just let me know, and I'll do the research on it.... I don't want you to think I want you to do everything for me....Since i've just joined here and started looking into this, i'm a little lost.... But I really do appreciate any help.... krismark
From http://www.xpcreate.com/directories.htmFILESCD: Files and directories here will be placed on the installation CD, without any further manipulation or evaluation. Special attention should be given to this folder, as this is the "interface" between your files, and the final CD. Examples include: FILESCD\I386\WINNT.SIF FILESCD\$OEM$\CMDLINES.TXT FILESCD\$OEM$\$1\DRIVERS\ Now go to http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/14/ to understand more about cmdlines.txt,or http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/ for a broader view.
