"NTDETECT failed" when booting the CD

Hello. I'm trying to make a custom windows 2000 CD using nLite 1.2 RC.

I've slipstreamed w2k sp4, added some drivers, specified some options and booted the resulting CD. Up to this point, everything went fine.

Then I tried to slipstream some hotfixes; I'm attaching the complete list at the bottom of this topic. When booting the resulting CD, the installation hangs in the very first black screen, with a "NTDETECT failed" message.

I've also tried to use the "debug" version of ntdetect.com (link), to see what was the problem found by ntdetect, but no useful info came out, the result is still the same: "NTDETECT failed" message.

Does anybody have the same problem? Thanks in advance!

This is the list of hotfixes that I'm trying to add:

Usual answer would be "start from an original set of files". I think it applies here.

I think the rule is that you can take more off in a second nLiting of your files but you get into problems trying to add hotfixes on top of an already processed cd. You can still reuse your first "Last_session.ini". Hope this helps.

Hi Ponch, thanks for your reply; actually, I had already used a clean set of files to produce the CD with the hotfixes, the same one that fails with the "NTDETECT failed" message.
